Tech Section: Intermediate Package & Tire Intelligence
Teams are utilizing the standard Next Gen Truck package (~700+ HP) with intermediate aero. Why? This provides a balance of high downforce and engine power for the 0.94-mile oval. So What? This creates a high-speed "pack-racing" feel while still rewarding short-track passing techniques.
Abrasive Surface: Despite the 2022 repave, the track is abrasive. Why? The asphalt aging process is starting to induce rapid tire wear. So What? Noticeable fall-off is expected after 40-60 laps, making tire conservation a primary driver concern during the final 110-lap stage.
Inner Liners: Mandatory for all trucks at Rockingham to ensure safety given the speeds and surface friction.
