Tech Section: Unrestricted 750 HP & Short-Track Aero

NASCAR implements the high-horsepower (~750 HP) unrestricted package for this flat 0.526-mile oval. Why? Higher power levels create more wheel-spin and require more throttle finesse coming off the corners. So What? This reduces the "train" effect and rewards drivers who can manage their rear tires over a long 80-lap green-flag stage.

Tire Technicals: Goodyear is bringing a soft-compound left-side tire. Why? To increase the fall-off rate on the concrete corner surfaces. So What? With 1.5-2.0 seconds of fall-off expected, the "overcut" strategy (staying out longer) will be highly risky compared to taking fresh tires early in the window.

Aero Mandate: Smaller spoilers and simplified diffusers are in use. So What? This forces teams to rely on mechanical "side-bite" rather than aerodynamic downforce, leading to more side-by-side contact.

Drivers & Teams Intelligence

Justin Allgaier (#48): Subbing for Alex Bowman for the second consecutive week. Why? Bowman continues to recover from vertigo. So What? Allgaier’s P15 qualifying run at Darlington shows he has the technical speed to keep the #48 in playoff contention; he is a short-track specialist with a medical waiver in place for the team.

Tyler Reddick: Enters as the points leader with 4 wins in the first 6 races. So What? Reddick is chasing history, looking to match legends like Dale Earnhardt by dominating the early season. His technical adaptivity on flat tracks is the current "gold standard."

Front Row Motorsports: Announced a national campaign partnership with FUEL by Franzia. So What? The team is seeing increased commercial investment following strong technical performances in 2026.

Pre-Race Section: Schedule & Penalties

Saturday, March 28: Practice (12:30 PM ET) and Qualifying (1:40 PM ET) on Amazon Prime Video. Sunday, March 29: Race at 3:30 PM ET on FS1.

Inspection Alert: Keep a close eye on the #9, #17, and #66 teams. Why? These teams failed inspection twice last week at Darlington. So What? Repeat offenders this week may face harsher "L2" penalties, including points deductions or crew chief suspensions.
