Focused Health 302

Sheldon Creed Leads Chase • 36 Entries Locked • v2.0 Cumulative Update
Las Vegas Motor Speedway
Saturday, October 3, 2026
SERIES: NASCAR O'Reilly Auto Parts Series
CHASE RACE: Race 4 of 9 (Race 28 of 2026)
TV: The CW (7:30 PM ET)
STAGES: 45 / 90 / 201 Laps (301.5 Miles)
PURSE: $1,661,806
🚨 TECHNICAL & INSPECTION ALERT: All 36 entered teams have successfully met pre-race technical standards with zero major inspection penalties or crew ejections reported prior to Saturday's single-day practice and qualifying sessions. Why? Teams utilized the series' two-week off-period following Bristol to thoroughly align suspension geometry and aero tolerances before loading for Nevada. So What? With all 36 charter/open cars locked into starting positions, crew chiefs can focus 100% of track time on mechanical grip and tire thermal management rather than stress over qualifying speed cutoffs.

Tech Section: Intermediate Aero & Thermal Mechanics

The Focused Health 302 utilizes the NASCAR O'Reilly Auto Parts Series 1.5-mile intermediate aerodynamic package on Las Vegas Motor Speedway's 20° banked tri-oval surface.

Intermediate Aero & Chassis Platform:
Why: The 1.5-mile layout generates immense corner entry side-force, making rear bodywork sealing and underbody diffuser efficiency vital for high-speed stability through Turns 1 & 2.
So What? Drivers who possess superior side-force stability can run the high groove close to the outside wall without triggering an aerodynamic push, enabling momentum passes during long green-flag runs.

Green-Flag Pit & Undercut Dynamics:
Why: LVMS features wide pit lanes and long green-flag stretches, making pit entry deceleration and 4-tire service execution the primary variables in net track position.
So What? Short-pitting two to three laps early to leverage fresh Goodyear rubber yields up to 1.5 seconds per lap in lap-time recovery, allowing aggressive crew chiefs to undercut the leaders during Stage 2.

Weekend Intelligence History (Cumulative Technical Assets)

In accordance with Non-Destructive Cumulative Integrity Protocols, all technical assets, Goodyear specifications, and historical specs from earlier increments are relocated here without truncation:

  • Goodyear Tire Combination: Left-Side Code D-6110 | Right-Side Code D-6140.
  • Tire Dimensions & Circumference: 15-inch wheel setup; Left-Side Circumference: 2,225 mm (87.6 in.) | Right-Side Circumference: 2,250 mm (88.6 in.).
  • Recommended Minimum Inflation Pressures:
    • Left Front (LF): 19 psi
    • Right Front (RF): 52 psi
    • Left Rear (LR): 19 psi
    • Right Rear (RR): 48 psi
  • Inner Liner Mandate: Inner liners are mandatory on all four wheel positions as standard for tracks 1.0 mile and longer. Why? High centrifugal forces at 175+ MPH require a secondary air bladder to prevent catastrophic sudden deflation if the primary tire carcass fails under heat load. So What? Gives drivers a safety margin to control the vehicle and reach pit road safely without damaging suspension control arms.
  • Tire Set Allocation: Total 6 Dry Weather Sets (4 new race sets, 1 qualifying transfer set to start race, 1 practice set).
  • Previous 2026 Setup Usage: Las Vegas-1 (March), Kansas-1, Texas Motor Speedway (May), Charlotte-1 (LS), and Nashville Superspeedway (LS). (Also run by the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series at Kansas).

Playoff Technical Causality: Sheldon Creed holds an 11-point lead following his overtime victory at Bristol. Why? Creed's Haas Factory Team chassis setup optimized late-run shock rebound, allowing him to maintain drive traction off Turn 4 under yellow-white-checkered conditions. So What? Justin Allgaier (-11) and Carson Kvapil (-37) must maximize Stage 1 and Stage 2 points at Vegas to erode Creed's buffer before the series shifts to upcoming superspeedway and road course legs.
