Kansas Speedway
Saturday, April 18, 2026
START: 6:00 PM CT
TV: The CW / CW App
STAGES: 45 / 90 / 200
WEATHER: 70°F (Partly Cloudy)
⚠️ TECHNICAL NOTE: This race features the intermediate aero package. So What? High downforce levels will reward drivers who can maintain throttle response in dirty air. Watch for JR Motorsports to utilize their depth to dominate the drafting lanes.

Tech Section: Intermediate Aero Intelligence

The O'Reilly series uses a 650-670 HP Next Gen-derived car. Why? This specific horsepower range, paired with high-downforce intermediate aero, creates tighter racing packs on 1.5-mile tracks. So What? Success at Kansas depends on handling in traffic; a car that is "fast alone" may struggle if it cannot navigate the wake of leading cars.

Goodyear Technicals (D-6106 / D-6130): Teams are limited to five sets for the race. Why? The abrasive Kansas surface creates significant fall-off after 40-60 laps. So What? This forces crew chiefs to choose between "short-pitting" for fresh rubber or gambling on track position during the long final stage.

Pit Strategy: With only five sets available, managing tires during green-flag cycles is the "X-factor." Teams failing to conserve sets for a late-race caution will be technically exposed.
