Despite 2026's shift to 750 HP for most tracks, superspeedway rules remain restricted. Why? To govern top speeds within the 28-degree high-banked packs. So What? Engines run at ~510 HP with a 7-inch rear spoiler. This high-drag setup maximizes the aerodynamic wake, allowing for the massive "runs" required for slingshot passing.
Goodyear Superspeedway Compound: Same setup as the spring Atlanta race. Why? Unique right-side tire (D-5268) is required for the abrasive, high-load concrete surface. So What?
